Warzone has shifted hard this season, and if you open your inventory right now it probably looks like a museum of old metas, random builds and half-finished ideas, especially if you have been grinding since the last couple of years of content. With Black Ops 7 folded into the mix, the new guns are not just another option, they are pushing everything else down the food chain, so if you are still clinging to that comfort AR from ages ago you are almost asking to lose gunfights, even if you are running something like a CoD BO7 Bot Lobby on the side to warm up before you queue in.

Loadout Rules Have Changed
One of the strangest adjustments this season is how the loadout rules feel both stricter and more forgiving at the same time. Wildcards are gone, so that old Gunfighter setup where you bolted eight random attachments on your primary is dead, and you are capped at five pieces per gun. It sounds harsh, and at first you will probably stare at the menu wondering which attachment to sacrifice, but it also forces you to focus on what the weapon actually needs: recoil control, range, handling or maybe just sprint speed so you do not feel stuck in mud.

Default Overkill And Gun Pairing
The big win buried in that change is that Overkill is now baked in, which quietly flips how people build classes. You do not have to burn a perk slot just to carry two primaries, so running a sniper and a close-range SMG becomes the default instead of a luxury. Solo players and small squads benefit the most because you can land, grab your drop and instantly cover all ranges without juggling perks or compromise builds, and it takes away that weird feeling of being forced to use a pistol just to keep a good passive perk.

Weapon Codes And Sharing Builds
The Gunsmith itself still looks familiar, with the same rows of barrels, muzzles and optics, but the new build code system changes how quickly the meta spreads through the community. Every specific setup generates a little code in the corner, and you can punch it in with a quick tap of L3 instead of pausing a video and zooming in on fuzzy screenshots, which means your squad can swap full builds in seconds and nobody has to sit in the lobby yelling out attachment names while the countdown ticks away.

Perk Overhaul And New Meta Feel
The perk rework also means your old “auto-pilot” class setups do not quite work any more, because free Overkill opens up new combinations that were not worth it in earlier seasons when you had to trade a slot for the second primary. You will start to see players leaning into stronger mobility or more aggressive vision perks now that they do not have to choose between firepower and utility, and once you pair that with the stronger BO7 weapons and easy sharing through build codes the meta speeds up fast, especially if you are testing everything in something like organised CoD BO7 Bot Lobby for sale sessions before you jump into ranked.
