So here's the situation – I'm sitting in my office in the DIFC right now, it's almost 4 PM, and I just got a call from my wife saying the Lexus won't start in the parking lot at home. She's got to pick up the kids from school in about an hour and I'm honestly panicking a little because I can't leave work early today with back-to-back meetings until 6. I've been reading through some older threads here about battery issues and I remember someone mentioning a delivery service that can come to you rather than having to find a garage and wait around. Has anyone actually used one of those mobile battery replacement services in the city before? I'm specifically looking for something that can get to me fast because time is really not on my side here – the car is parked at our apartment building in Al Satwa so it's not too far from the DIFC area actually, maybe 10 minutes drive. The battery warning light has been flickering on and off for the past week or so but I stupidly ignored it thinking it was just a sensor glitch, and now I'm paying the price for my laziness. The car is a 2018 RX350 and from what I recall it needs an AGM battery because of all the start-stop tech and the advanced electronics these things have. I called one place earlier and they said they could do it tomorrow morning which is absolutely useless for me right now, I need someone who can come out this evening before 6 PM ideally. I've seen a couple of websites that advertise on-the-spot replacement but I'm always a bit skeptical about whether they actually show up when they say they will or if they try to upsell you on a more expensive battery than you actually need. There's also the question of whether they carry the right spec for Japanese cars because I know Lexus can be a bit particular about battery ratings and cold cranking amps, especially with the heat we get here. I've heard some people say that using a non-genuine battery can mess with the car's computer system and cause all sorts of electrical gremlins, so I want to make sure whoever comes out knows what they're doing and doesn't just slap in whatever they have on the van. If I can get Same-day Amaron car battery delivery near DIFC that would honestly be a lifesaver because I know Amaron is a solid brand and I've seen good reviews about their durability in this climate. What I really need to know is whether anyone here has actually used a service like this and if they can confirm that the technician actually tests the charging system and alternator before just swapping the battery, because I'd hate to replace it only to find out the underlying issue is something else. Also, do they take the old battery away or do I have to deal with disposal myself? Any recommendations or warnings would be hugely appreciated because I'm about to make some calls and I really don't want to end up with a dodgy battery that dies on me again in six months. I've seen a few names floating around like Battery World and some others but I'm not sure which ones are actually reliable and which ones are just middlemen who outsource to whoever is available. My wife is already stressed enough about the kids' pickup situation so I really need to get this sorted properly the first time without any drama. If anyone has had a good experience with a particular company that operates in this area, please let me know because I'm going to start ringing around in the next few minutes and it would be great to have a trusted name to ask for rather than just picking randomly from Google. Thanks in advance for any help!
