So I've got a 2018 A5 2.0 TFSI with the 7-speed S-tronic, and there's something that's been really annoying me lately that I can't quite figure out. When I'm sitting at a stop and I press the accelerator to pull away, there's this noticeable hesitation before the car actually moves, almost like the gearbox is taking a moment to engage or the throttle is lagging. It's not a huge delay but it's definitely there, and it makes the car feel sluggish and unresponsive off the line, especially in stop-start traffic where quick responses matter. I'm not sure if this is a transmission issue, a throttle response issue, or just a characteristic of the drive-by-wire system, but it's really frustrating and it makes the car feel less sporty than it should be. I've tried different drive modes and it's still there, just slightly less noticeable in dynamic mode but still present. I've had the car checked and there are no fault codes or obvious mechanical issues, so I'm wondering if this is something that can be improved with a software update or maybe a throttle pedal reset. I've been looking for specialists who know these S-tronic units and I found a group that are Certified Audi transmission repair specialists in Musaffah Industrial, and I'm thinking maybe they can help. Has anyone else experienced this hesitation on their A5 or similar model, and were you able to resolve it? I'd love to hear what worked for others because this is really starting to bother me and I want to get it sorted. Any advice would be hugely appreciated.
