I recently relocated to the ICAD area for work and one of the first things on my to-do list is finding a decent garage for my 2017 Ram 1500 because I absolutely refuse to drive all the way back to my old place just for routine maintenance. I've had this truck for about four years now and it's been incredibly reliable, but I know from experience that these big American trucks need proper attention and you can't just take them anywhere. I'm particularly conscious of the fact that the Ram has some known issues with the exhaust manifold bolts breaking and the air suspension system can be temperamental, so I want to find a place that actually knows how to diagnose and fix these things properly rather than just guessing. I've been asking around the industrial area and a few people have mentioned that there are some decent workshops out here that specialise in American vehicles, but I'm always a bit sceptical because I've had bad experiences in the past where places claimed to know what they were doing but clearly didn't have a clue. I'm hoping to find somewhere that's honest, reasonably priced, and actually has the proper diagnostic equipment for these trucks, because I've seen too many horror stories of people taking their Rams to general workshops and ending up with bigger problems than they started with. A colleague mentioned that decent Dodge repair in ICAD is actually more common than you'd think because there are a few workshops that have built a solid reputation over the years, but he couldn't remember the names off the top of his head. I'm planning to do a bit more research and maybe drive around the industrial area this weekend to get a feel for the places, but I'd really appreciate any recommendations from people who've had positive experiences with workshops in this area. I'm not looking for anything fancy or flashy – just somewhere honest that does good work and won't try to rip me off because they think I don't know anything about cars. Any advice from fellow Ram owners or anyone who's had good experiences with garages in ICAD would be massively helpful right now because I need to get the oil changed and a few other bits done fairly soon and I'd rather not have to travel across the city to do it.
