shifty asked me to drop by and I thought I would answer any questions about my headsets... If anyone has any?

Some of you may know me as the Navy guy that was re-enlisted by Amanda Tapping in Vancouver in March of 2006. I have also had the chance to spend time with some of the other actors doing security and escort at many cons. Normally I am pretty anal about screen accurate, not to others, but its just how I roll most the time. For the headsets I took the approach little different. When you are wearing them they appear to be very screen accurate. Side by side not so much. I decided to go this route when the actors I questioned about them all complained how they hurt and they were very uncomfortable. I needed to find way to fix this before I sold anything!

After about 6 months and 4-5 different tests I released my first headset and started getting glowing reviews from my customers. I then started having the real actors try them on for size and the feedback was better then I could have imagined. In the fall of 2006 Jason Momoa I think was the most impressed as while escorting him to his car he ripped mine off my ear and said in his deep gruff voice "Where did you get this?" "I made it" I replied... "YOU MADE THIS? Putting it on his ear bending mine all out shape... "No $!@#... this is way better then the crap they give us!" Then and there I knew I had a winner prop and I have been making them better and better since. I fine tuned some of my manufacturing, and also shortened them to a screen accurate length as the real ones changed over the years as well.

My wife and I both share this hobby and have spent years and way too much money putting together authentic and very realistic prop and costumes. We do a lot of charity work for children and events with our costumes and it can be a lot of fun. I started out doing only Stargate and Stargate Atlantis, but now do Star Wars and a few others and now have about 20 full costumes. My wife has over 30 between Star Wars, Stargate, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Universe, Firefly, Harry Potter, Matrix, Pirates and various Disney characters.

Before I retired from the Navy I was stationed in New Orleans and was hired as a military costume advisor and prop consultant on a major motion picture. They also gave me small part in the film. I had the pleasure of working for two Hollywood’s best Prop Master and Costume Designers. It was a dream come true for me and my wife to take my 20 years of military knowledge and our hobby and twist into a job. Now I am taking those skills and giving you and my friends a chance to share my passion for prop and costuming. Have the Hollywood look without the Hollywood price tag! I can't talk about the movie until June 17th, but ill give you hint... "In brightest day, in blackest night..."
