Why isn't Carter in uniform? She seems to have "gone native"...I prefer her in the blue BDU's...then I'm also reminded there's that sweet little tank top number [Broca Divide]

O'NEILL: By the way, how's the wound?
CARTER: Wound?
O'NEILL: I understand you got stabbed in the stomach?
CARTER: Oh, yeah, that - that was nothing. With any luck, there won't even be a scar.
O'NEILL: Well, good. I was concerned.
CARTER: You were?
O'NEILL: Sure. (smiles) If it doesn't heal properly, you'll never wear that sweet little tank top number again.

She stops in her tracks at that, and he keeps on walking. CARTER stands there for a second, looking embarrased. Then she smiles, shakes her head, and follows him off.

Awesome!

It's been so long since I saw this episode that I'd forgotten how funny that conversation was :D

Maybe Sam is trying to embrace a less military, and more scientist, role.

Are you talking about her appearance in Atlantis?

If so, they tend to more lax 'off world' :)

Shepard is still in his black BDU's.

I don't know...it's just something about that grey uniform that kind of dull's Amanda...and Amanda is anything but!

It's all moot now since she'll be leaving the show and we get the Emergency Medical Hologram taking over! LOL

Ah, I see what you mean now!

As she took over Weir's role, she seems to have taken over her wardrobe too! At the beginning everyone had grey uniforms, apart from the scientists. The difference came with the inserts.

But in the last seasons they've ditched those uniforms. The military have gone to black BDUs/leathers and the doctors have gone from that yucky beige ensemble to a dark grey with yellow inserts.

They've definitely darkened the whole feel of the place.

I'm do hope that the rumours about SGA aren't true, and that what we heard was just what took place during 'The Last Man'.

I think you're right Colonel_Carter. Sam inherited the essence of the Weir's character.

They probably shouldn't have done that though. After all, Sam was a MUCH more developed character than Weir (with 10 years of SG-1 behind her!). The writers shouldn't play down the Sam we've all come to know simply to fill up a civilian diplomat void left by Weir.

I think that is really where the writers went wrong. They have definitely underused Carter's character since she's been in Atlantis.

We all know her as a strong member of a team - yet she's rarely been off world, and when she did she got injured and was portrayed as weak. She's usually stuck in the Atlantis office.

I wished they'd made better use of her scientific and combat experience :)
